2022 Voting & Election Information

NOTICE:

There will NOT be a voting site at Kindred City Hall on Election Day, June 14, 2022. 

There WILL BE an Early Voting site at Kindred City Hall on Wednesday, June 8 from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

 

Important 2022 Voting & Election Dates
January 1, 2022 :

A city election candidate may begin collecting signatures on a nominating petition (even numbered years). (NDCC 40-21-07)

 

April 11, 2022 @ 4:00 p.m. :

Deadline for candidates for city offices to file their election petitions is 64 days before the election. (NDCC 40-21-07) The city auditor shall determine the arrangement of the names of the candidates upon the ballot by conducting a drawing immediately after the deadline for the filing of nomination petitions. (NDCC 40-21-08) (The auditor shall set the date, time, and location for the drawing and give advance notice to the candidates involved.) Immediately after this drawing, the city auditor shall notify the county auditor of the offices to be filled and of any measures to appear on the city election ballot. (even numbered years) (NDCC 40-21-02)

 

June 6 - June 10, 2022 (Early Voting):

Monday, June 6 through Friday, June 10 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day the following Early Voting locations are open to any Cass County (ND) Voter:

     - FargoDome, 1800 University Dr N, Fargo

     - West Acres Community Corner (Roger Maris Entrance), 3902 13th Ave S, Fargo

     - Doubletree Inn, 825 E Beaton Dr, West Fargo

The following sites are open for Early Voting on the dates and times indicated:

     - Northern Cass School, 16201 18th St SE, Hunter - Monday, June 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

     - Tower City Community Center, 507 Broadway St, Tower City - Tuesday, June 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

     - Kindred City Hall, 31 5th Ave N, Kindred - Wednesday, June 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

     - Days Inn, 2050 Governor's Dr, Casselton - Thursday, June 9 and Friday June 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 

June 13, 2022: 

Absentee Ballots are due June 13, 2022. Via USPS, Absentee Ballots must be postmarked by June 13, 2022. Via secure dropbox, absentee ballots must be returned by 5:00 p.m. on June 13, 2022. A secure dropbox is located outside the Cass County Courthouse at 211 9th St S, Fargo, ND. 

June 14, 2022:  (Election Day)

Second Tuesday in June - Combined election in even numbered years - City election is held in conjunction with the state primary election except in certain home rule cities. (NDCC 40-21-02)

City Candidates

How to Run for Mayor, City Council, or Park Board in Kindred

If you wish to run for mayor or a seat on city council or park board and have your name listed on the election ballot, you will need to file a Statement of Interest (SFN 10172) and a Petition/Certificate of Nomination (SFN 02704) and acquire the required number of signatures and submit these forms to the City Auditor by 4:00 p.m. on April 11, 2022. If you are running as a write-in candidate, you do not need to file these forms. Please contact Kindred City Hall for more information.
