City of Kindred - Informational Open House

Upcoming Water Main Replacement & Development Project

Date: Wednesday, August 20

Time: 7:00 - 8:00 pm

Location: Kindred City Hall

This informal open house is an opportunity for residents to ask questions, view project details, and speak directly with project engineers and contractors. Beginning as early as September 2025, construction will begin to replace the water main along West Elm Street and construct infrastructure for Meadow Trails, a new mixed-use development.

More details will also be available about Meadow Trails. While the water main replacement project is a project independent of Meadow Trails Development, the project will have overlapping elements – including, but not limited to, scheduling and contractor and engineer services.

We encourage all residents to attend, especially those directly impacted by the West Elm Street improvements. If you have questions before the event, please contact Kindred City Hall at 701-428-3115 or visit our PROJECTS webpage and click on 2025-2 Meadow Trails Sewer Water & Street Improvements & Elm St Water Main Replacement.

Home: Welcome

In Kindred, "kindness" isn't just a buzzword in another tagline; it truly is a way of life here. Residents enjoy the quiet, small-town atmosphere where you get a wave "hello" from passing cars and neighbors visit on each other's porches.  Kindred's close proximity (25 minutes from FMWF) to "big city" conveniences and a vast network of employment opportunities has made it an enviable location, yet the atmosphere remains true to our small-town North Dakota roots.

Kindred began as an agricultural community and that tradition continues today. While agriculture still plays a large part in Kindred's economy and culture, the community continues to grow and expand in many sectors. Both residential and commercial growth have created one of the best small towns in ND for you and your family to live, work, and play.
