Construction Updates

*The city of Kindred will try to provide timely, relevant, and up-to-date information regarding construction for the Meadow Trails Development & Elm St Water Main Replacement as it becomes available to us. Received 3/25/2026:

The construction on Meadow Trails development has started up with the early thaw. Utility installation will continue through the next few months with May 1st being the planned start of the Elm Street portion of construction. As a reminder, the Elm Street scope of work includes replacement of new watermain as well as new services to the property for which the main services. Travel disruptions should be expected as work continues, however Elm Street will remain open through construction. The estimated time to complete this work is two months, weather permitting.

 

May 1st is also the target date for paving and grading activities to begin within the Meadow Trails development. This includes work at the new streets and alleyways. The estimated time to complete this work is two months, weather permitting.

Received 10/31/2025:

Earthwork operations have progressed to 97% of the pond excavated and outlines of future paved streets finished . Underground utilities have progressed to 85% of sanitary sewer placed and 10% of watermain placed. Underground utilities work will continue into mid-to-late November weather permitting. Subgrade preparation for a portion of the alleyway will begin the first part of November. The intent is to place gravel within the alley from 8th Ave S to 9th Ave S. All other paving operations, including the streets and alleyway has been rescheduled to next spring.

Received 10/9/2025:

Earthwork operations have progressed to 90% of the pond being excavated and outlines of future paved streets being created. Underground utilities have progressed to 50% of sanitary sewer being placed and a portion of watermain being placed. Earthwork and underground utilities will continue into late October. Paving of the alleyway is still scheduled to begin this fall though this may be subject to change.

Received 9/12/2025:

Earthwork operations have progressed to have over 2/3 of the pond excavated. Earthwork will continue alongside underground utilities which are scheduled to begin next week and continue into mid-to-late October. Paving is scheduled to begin in that same timeframe.
